I live close to the centre of Edinburgh and here are some of my favourite places to eat brunch where I can often be found writing on my laptop. Just 10-15 minutes
Edinburgh is blessed to have amongst its residents at some time in history some of the most famous writers – Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Robert Louis Stevenson, Kenneth Grahame, JM Barrie, JK Rowling, Ian Rankin, Alexander McCall Smith, Sir Walter Scott, and of course Robbie Burns, and to name a few. Are you the next?

Taste of Italy
A delightful Italian cafe in a diner style. I’m sure they serve the strongest coffee in Edinburgh.

OQO
One of the most comfortable and charming cafes you could ever wish for. Always busy, which is the best recommendation you could have.
Harvey Nichols Fourth Floor
Yes they do brunch here. However, with unparalleled views of Edinburgh it is a place to enjoy afternoon tea or even better an early evening glass of fizz. Nearly always busy at weekends so best book ahead especially in the summer months.
